Rock and Roll Blues 3:530:00/3:53
Music is inescapable yet it is an escape. While they were singing along to Duran Duran, I dived deep into The Beatles. I then explored and absorbed different musical landscapes, happy to be lost in the labyrinth of tonal creativity and audio magic. Time travelling back to Mississippi John Hurt and BB King, across to The Police, Van Morrison and David Bowie, sideways to Bob Marley, Santana and Miles Davis, while always leaning on Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and The Waifs. Over the years, whenever I could, momentous events in my life are packed into lyrics. The music would weave out, at times naturally, at other times over a few tours of the mind. My music can be described as heavy on acoustic folk, with strong trappings of blues, jazz, classical and world music.
Freedom Badge came about through serendipitous introductions and generous friends. Peace River ruptured from a consciousness not evident until now. A third album is being constructed with more collaboration and adventurism.
